stPJs-logoA child’s imagination can provide unlimited freedom from a world of hurt and pain and be a road to true healing. Whether the dream is to become a princess or to simply live in a safe, loving home, dreams are often the only comfort a child can find.   Since 2004, My Princess and Me has been making dreams come true, big and small for the children of St. Peter - St. Joseph Children's Home (St. PJ’s).

On this day, the girls of St PJ’s, will join over 300 daughters from the San Antonio community, to become princesses for a day.  A day of fancy dresses, cupcakes and sparkles may sound like an ordinary day of play.  However, the feeling of a special day of dreams and imagination can be a turning point in the healing of an abused and neglected child.

stPJs-buildingSt. PJ’s home was originally founded as an orphanage by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1891. Today St. PJ’s is both a home to children who have suffered as victims of sexual and emotional abuse, neglect, poverty and broken homes as well as a home that provides community counseling and other services for families in crisis.
